METAL MOULDS FOR
PLASTIC INJECTION

Plastic-Wax injectors utilize metal moulds instead of the traditional rubber mould.

Metal moulds have got a number of advantages over rubber. First, metal moulds permit the injection of extremely thin patterns, as thin as 0,35 mm and in some cases thinner. All details are precisely replicated; even the tiniest details (lettering, logos etc.) are crisp and clear, with a quality far surpassing what you can achieve with rubber moulds

Metal moulds maintain precise tolerances and do not distort with heat or pressure as rubber moulds may do. Patterns produced from a good metal mould always weigh the same and have identical dimensions, making pricing of the finished jewellery much more accurate. Most metal moulds require little or no mould release or silicone spray. Plastic cools much faster than wax, so metal moulds can generally be opened immediately; no witing is required.

Making a metal mould is more complicated than making a rubber mould, but a metal mould lasts almost forever, and there are many creative possibilities. For example interchangeable inserts can be fitted into the mould blanks. Metal moulds can make rings, findings, pendants, earrings and even technical parts, nearly anything you can make in a rubber mould. And the quality and precision of your finished products will noticeably improve.
